Start with the route the hose will actually travel, not the straight-line distance across the garden. A reel beside the tap may still be awkward if the working hose must cross a planted bed, pass under furniture or turn around a doorway before reaching the watering point. Record the tap, proposed mounting position, clear walking route and farthest use point before comparing models.
For a distributor or retailer, that same information turns a general request for a “small-garden reel” into a useful product-selection brief. It also gives your team a clearer way to explain the product without promising a reach or installation arrangement that has not been checked.
Draw the working route before choosing a model
A simple sketch is enough. Mark the water connection and proposed reel location separately: the supply connection to the reel and the working hose that reaches the spray accessory serve different purposes. Do not assume the catalogue's listed hose length also describes the feed hose.
Trace the path along paving or another clear route, including the turns around beds, steps and permanent obstacles. Note where the user will stand while watering. A route that requires standing inside a planted bed or pulling across a fragile border deserves another look before the model is selected.
Record a practical return and storage position as well. The person using the reel should not have to move furniture each time the hose is returned. Any fixing method, mounting surface, operating clearance and permitted movement must be checked against the model's installation information; a product photograph is not a fixing specification.
Compare the catalogue values, not the model numbers
The current water-reel catalogue gives these values:
| Model | Listed hose length | Product dimensions, as printed |
|---|---|---|
| FDWB15-1/2 | 15 M | 360 × 220 × 320 MM |
| FDWB30-5/8 | 1/2": 33 M; 5/8": 18 M | 460 × 265 × 400 MM |
| FDWB20-1/2 | 1/2": 25 M; 5/8": 15 M | 425 × 225 × 375 MM |
| FDWB40-5/8 | 1/2": 45 M; 5/8": 30 M | 510 × 290 × 450 MM |
The dimensions are labelled Product Dimensions / 裸机尺寸. They are not carton dimensions, and the catalogue does not identify their axes or a separate installed movement envelope. The printed material is PP Body / PVC Hose. This catalogue statement is not independent testing and does not establish the material or compatibility of every seal or detachable accessory.
FDWB20 and FDWB30 each have multiple hose-diameter and length rows in the current catalogue. The website SKU suffix does not select a source configuration row: state the required diameter and length in the enquiry. A larger model number is not a shortcut for a longer hose, and a listed length is not a guaranteed usable radius around every mounting position.
Keep accessory and connection questions separate
Choose the reel model and the spray accessory deliberately. A pictured combination does not, by itself, define the standard packing contents, a thread standard or universal compatibility. If a matching FDSG spray gun is wanted, include its exact model in the enquiry and ask for the proposed connection arrangement to be confirmed.
The current water-reel catalogue lists Max. Pressure as 10 BAR. This is a supplier catalogue statement, not independent testing or a pressure rating for a detachable accessory. Feed-hose length, thread specification and the complete connection arrangement are not established by these fields and still need confirmation for the selected configuration.
A useful enquiry checklist
- Selected reel model or models to compare.
- Sketch or description of the tap, reel location and real working route.
- Intended spray accessory and any existing connection information.
- Estimated quantities and destination market.
- Branding, packaging and sample requirements.
- Any timing expectation that needs a quotation-stage answer.
For a broader comparison, see the water-reel length guide. Once a model looks suitable, open its product page above and use its quotation link to carry that model into the existing enquiry form.
